Bedside Cot Reviews
A bedside crib, sometimes referred to as a baby bassinet, is positioned next to your bed so that you are able to safely look after your infant during night feeds and nappy-changings without needing to leave the bed. These cribs are great for helping to build independence in your child as they grow more comfortable in their own sleeping space.
The Joie Roomie Glide
The Joie Roomie Glide is a bedside crib that allows parents to sleep together with their baby while making sure that they're asleep safely. Its smooth glide will help soothe your baby to sleep and its ingenious features let you keep an eye on your child without leaving bed.
The side panel that slides out of the cot can be raised and lowered with just a press of a button. This makes it easy to reach inside and soothe a baby at night. It comes with 11 height adjustments to accommodate nearly any mattress size, and adjustable folding feet so that it sits exactly at the correct level.
The cot is cushioned and features mesh sides for better the airflow, and the mattress is made of high-density foam to provide extra protection. It's also able to be cleaned so you can keep it clean. It also is fitted with a sheet that's suitable for the cot.
Contrary to other cribs that are bedside, the Roomie Glide is suitable for most beds, including divans thanks to its straps and clip attachment. It can be used as a standalone crib if it isn't connected to the bed. It has many amazing features that were designed with baby and parent bonding in mind.
extra resources to keep in mind is that although this crib is perfect for newborns, it won't last long once your child is six months old, so you will require an additional cot. Overall, Roanna thought that the Joie Roomie Glide crib was a great buy. She liked its sleek design.
John Lewis sells the Roomie Glide for PS160. Roanna thought this was a reasonable price for such a cot. She liked how it looked in her bedroom and thought its grey color would fit the majority of modern homes. However, she did point out that it isn't a great idea to rock a smaller baby, as it can create the stage for bad habits that will affect later sleep patterns.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee is an award-winning crib for bed designed with a secure night's rest in mind. It features a drop side rail that can be easily lowered to feed your baby at night without having to disturb your little one or get out of bed It's perfect for mothers who are breastfeeding! It's also light and easy to move around during nap time or for travel.
It's made of soft materials and has breathable mesh sides to promote airflow. It is available in charcoal or oak with a range of melange fabrics that will blend with most decor styles. Anna found it to be sturdy and secure when attached to her bed with the legs securely clicking into the bed and the zips secured for baby-safety. It took Anna approximately 10 minutes to put it together and did not require any tools. There are clear instructions, a video and a customer support number in case you experience any issues.
The CoZee crib has all the features you'd expect from a crib to your bed, including the ability to connect it to your bed using a stay-in place connection system. It also has six height settings. Additionally there is an inclines feature that can be used to aid infants suffering from reflux or congestion. It's also machine-washable, a must with all the dribble and vomit that comes with having a newborn!
The CoZee is a fantastic option to keep your child close during their first six months of learning to fall asleep independently. It can be used as a changing station, cot or toddler bed. With the addition of a sofa bed extension kit, it can be transformed into an crib. While it won't magically bring your baby to sleep or feed them, it can rock them and send them off.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of Chicco’s more expensive options. However, it comes with numerous great features. It can be used as either a side-sleeper or as a standalone crib that is suitable for infants ranging from birth to six months. It has a new mechanism for opening and closing the side panel and is easy to use even with one hand. It's also more flexible than its predecessor with 11 different height levels and feet that retract to place under any bed.
Our testers were impressed by the ease of access provided by the side panel which can be moved upwards and down with one push of a button. This was a huge help during night time feeds, as it meant they could easily reach inside and take their baby away without waking them.
It is possible to lower the side panel by it's own, however this is not recommended, since it increases the likelihood that your baby will be thrown out of the cot. The patented safety locking system guarantees that the side panel will only remain in place if it's properly attached to the parent's mattress. This is a great feature to have for peace of mind, especially if you're breastfeeding and require frequent feedings at night.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to be a perfect fit for any bed that is divan-based as well as beds with drawers thanks to the legs that can be telescopic. It also comes with tilting functions for babies with reflux and a rocking feature to help them sleep after feeding. It's also very large and has great ventilation due to its mesh sides.
The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our test subjects despite the lengthy instruction manual. It's a bit heavier than other side-sleepers but it can still be easily moved from one place to another. It's also foldable into a bag for travel, which is ideal when you need to transport it. The only issue our testers found is that the side panel didn't move as much as other models. This caused it to be a bit more difficult to see your baby from your bed.

The Shnuggle Air
The Shnuggle Air bedside crib is an excellent choice for an infant crib that will grow with your child. It's a crib for co-sleeping that attaches securely to your bed and can be transformed into a stylish cot once your baby is old enough. Ideal for feeding at night and strengthening the bond you have with your new born.
In contrast to other cribs for bed like the Shnuggle Air is built with breathability in mind. The mesh side panels with dual-view and hypoallergenic, breathable airflow mattress increase airflow and keep your baby comfortable and cool. A gentle incline option helps to reduce colic and reflux while the zip down side allows you to feed or comfort your baby at night.
The kit for conversion to cot (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear directions and everything you require to begin. It took us about an hour to put together and was reasonably straightforward. The only issue with the instructions was that certain images did not have captions. This made it difficult to follow. Overall, it was a simple procedure and the quality of materials used was high.
The Shnuggle Air is a great option for women who are breastfeeding or have had C-sections. It allows them to reach out and hold their baby to comfort them and feeding without having to leave their bed. It's also great for mothers who wish to avoid the stress of getting into and out of a traditional cot, or placing their baby down for a nap.
The motion of gliding was found to be very helpful in lulling babies to sleep after feedings at midday or night. The drop-down side is also easily accessible to feed or soothe babies during the middle of the night and was a major benefit for our exhausted test mums. Although it doesn't rock or come with extra features, like an audio system the Joie Roomie Glide's sleek design and functional features are a welcome addition to our top bedside crib reviews.
